With reference to your letter No. 36377/1914 of
the 23rd ultimo enclosing a copy of a telegram from
the Governor of Hong Kong respecting the femily of
Dr. Graham who holds the post of surgeon on the
Peninsuler and Oriental S.S. "Nubia", I am directed
by Secretary Sir E. Grey to inform you that the name
of the Graham family will be communicated to the
United States Ambassador, and that the United States
authorities abroad will take such action as may be
possible.
I am to add that Sir E. Grey cannot undertake to
transmit money abroad on behalf of individuals, but
that arrangements have been made with the United
States Ambassador for repatriating women and children
who wish to return to this country.
